About the Exhibition
Elizabeth Shoumatoff painted leaders and luminaries across the twentieth century. At the center of this exhibition is her 1943 portrait of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, painted at the White House in Washington, DC. The exhibition also features portraits of members of the Rutherfurd family, whose Allamuchy estate is now Rutherfurd Hall. Together these works illuminate a personal connection between an artist, a president, and a New Jersey home dedicated to culture and education.
After the Opening
The exhibition will be open to the public on Friday, September 19, and Saturday, September 20 during limited hours. Admission for those dates is $10 at the door.
Accessibility and Parking
Parking is available on site. Accessible entry and restrooms are available on the main level. Attire is smart casual. Photography for personal use is welcome unless otherwise indicated in the gallery. Large bags should be checked with front desk volunteers.
