  • What is the guest capacity at Rutherfurd Hall? Can I have my event here with 150, 200, 400+ guests?Rutherfurd Hall specializes in microweddings, and we are happy to accommodate intimate celebrations. Rutherfurd Hall can comfortably accommodate small to medium guest counts.
    Seated dining: Up to 80 guests
    Standing only: 120 guests
    Sitting-only event: 100
    For a sit-down reception with over 150 guests, a tent rental will be required to accommodate additional guests.

 

  • How do I make sure my date is available?
    We ask for preferred date(s) and flexibility in our event inquiry form. From there, we let you know about date availability and alternative dates if desired.

 

  • How do I secure my preferred event date at Rutherfurd Hall? If I’m emailing with you, does that mean I’ve secured my event date? What steps confirm my event date and booking?

    To secure your preferred date, a signed contract and deposit are required within 10 days of receiving your contract. Walkthroughs are available by appointment but are not required to complete your booking. Please note that additional walkthroughs may incur an extra fee.

    To avoid delays, please finalize event details before signing the contract, such as:

    – Rental hours (changes affect the total due)

    – Type of event (ceremony only, ceremony and reception, etc.)

    – Other special requests that may impact the agreement

     

    Prompt completion of contract and deposit ensures your reservation is secured.

 

  • Can I have an outdoor ceremony or reception? Can we make an alternative plan to move inside?
    Rutherfurd Hall has a beautiful outdoor space for ceremonies and receptions. As you plan your outdoor wedding/event, you book the venue with the understanding that it will be outdoors rain or shine. A tent rental will be required to accommodate parties greater than 150 guests, and/or to accommodate any inclement weather. Please note that events booked for outdoors are done so with the understanding that weather can be unpredictable.We want to ensure that your event goes smoothly and appreciate your understanding.

 

  • What if I book my event outdoors and then there’s inclement weather?
    As you plan your outdoor wedding/event,  you book the venue with the understanding that it will be outside rain or shine. You will be required to secure a tent to accommodate any inclement weather. Please note that events booked outdoors are done so with the understanding that weather can be unpredictable.
    We want to ensure that your event goes smoothly and appreciate your understanding.

 

  • Does Rutherfurd Hall provide air conditioning?
    As a historic site, Rutherfurd Hall is not fully air-conditioned. However, we do provide portable floor A/C units and allow doors to remain open to the patio area to help with ventilation and airflow. Please keep this in mind when planning for your event, especially during warmer months.

 

  • Is there a bridal and groom suite available?
    Yes, we offer a bridal and groom suite. Please note, there are limited electrical outlets in the suites, so we advise being mindful of power usage to avoid any outages. The bridal and groom suites are available for an additional fee.

 

  • Can I bring in my own vendors or are there preferred vendors?
    You are welcome to bring in your own vendors, or you can choose from a list of recommended vendors. All vendors must be pre-approved by Rutherfurd Hall before your event.

 

  • Is catering available at Rutherfurd Hall? Is there a kitchen our caterer can use?
    While Rutherfurd Hall does not have a full kitchen for preparing food, our venue is equipped to allow caterers to use the kitchen for keeping food warm, refrigeration, or setting up buffet-style service. Please ensure your caterer is prepared for these limitations.

 

  • Are we allowed to bring alcohol to Rutherfurd Hall?
    You are allowed to bring alcohol to Rutherfurd Hall, but your caterer or you will be required to provide liquor liability insurance to us. If your caterer is not providing this insurance, you will need to secure the liquor liability insurance.

 

  • Does Rutherfurd Hall provide tables and chairs?
    Rutherfurd Hall provides tables and chairs for guest counts up to 80. For 81+ guests, it is recommended that you arrange for rental through a vendor. Our team can provide recommendations for local rental companies, if needed.

 

  • Is there a noise restriction or curfew at Rutherfurd Hall?
    As a historic venue located in a residential area, we ask that guests respect the local noise ordinances. We recommend wrapping up events by 11 PM.

 

  • Can I set up the day before my event?
    Setup is typically not available the day before your event. Setup occurs on the event day, starting at the time agreed upon in your contract. We recommend arriving early on the event day to ensure everything is ready in time for your celebration.

 

  • What is the parking situation at Rutherfurd Hall?
    Free parking is available for guests, including accessible parking spots close to the entrance.

 

  • Do you provide linens?
    Black linens only are available.

 

  • Are we allowed to decorate? Is there a fee to decorate?
    You are allowed to decorate using materials that accommodate the historic nature of Rutherfurd Hall. Decorating occurs during your setup time as agreed upon in your contract. Breakdown or decoration cleanup occurs during your cleanup time as listed in your contract.
